Time flies. Since I stepped into 2008, the time seen moving really really rapidly. 1o days of 2008 was gone. Yes! I was spending my days fairly wisely. Good on me!
Yesterday I Extracted my bottom right wisdom teeth.
Why extracting my wisdom teeth? Actually, It was not painful at all and it just had a tiny cavity on it and seen I will move to Sydney in few months time, I decided to extract it to prevent the high cost extracting operation in Sydney.
Why now? Hmmm! I think I might be fairly busy for coming weeks or months. I looked at my planner and found out the best time to do it is early January as I got some idle time now.
OK! Let's talk about it!
The booking time actually dropped on Monday (7 Jan) but I postponed it due to the urgent working trip to Labuan on 8 Jan.
Some of my wisdom tooth extraction history: I got my bottom left wisdom extracted 2-3 years ago before I start my life in Sydney. Yes, it was done at the same place in Miri. Where? "Grace Dentistry" a very experienced dentist did it for me. I trust him (maybe he's a Christian, should be more supportive to Christian fellow). The only down side of this dentist: He did not use the medical gloves. :( (Car told me this)
I reached there around 9am and the operation started around 9.30am. Soon i lied on the dental chair, the dentist applied a dose of anaesthetic that he said will keep me away from feeling any "suffering" for coming 3 hrs and the operation will finish between 15-30mins. Good! and let the "fun" part begin...
Before that, let me briefly introduce my "3rd molar tooth". Both of them had been there for about 5 years. Since the time I was studying in Tassie, the left-handed side started to draw my attention. What kind of attention? The bad one! It could not fully erupt and it start decaying. From then, I knew I have to take extra care not just for the decaying one but both of them. Actually, both of them didnt make the way out from the gum. :(
OK, 3 years ago, when i was here in Miri attending my brother wedding, I extracted the left-handed one. It was really a scary experience, during the extraction, thanks to the invention of anaesthetic that bring most of the pain away but the operation pressure is the one that petrify me the most, feeling the movements of the dental equipments going around the teeth was just not pleasing me at all even it was not painful.
Rinsing my blood out very 2-3 mins also made me feel disgusting. BUT I HAD SUSTAINED IT...
This time, the feeling was still there but I seen more ready than last time. soon after the dentist put the "digger" in my month and start the "digging" job, the pain started to kick in. It just did not seen right, so I requested another dose of anaesthetic. I got what i desired and the "digger" was in my month again...
Keep praying the teeth will come out quickly really helps. At least it diverted my mind from keep thinking about the equipment movements in my mouth. Avoid to think the aftermath also make me feel more harmonious. 20 mins later....after the dentist keep complaining the space is too small, my tongue keeps blocking the way...finally, the teeth was out. Hooray...and now my mind divert back to the aftemath- the killing pain after the anaesthetic was gone. The only thing I could do was requesting more pain killers.
Back home! still jumping but as the mouth could not open conveniently, So, i decided not to talk much. And the good thing: The extraction kill my appetite! Good, I could loose weight now! at least for 1-2 days. Better than nothing...:) The wound (the hole previously holding the teeth) was keep bleeding. It's disgusting and I keep changing the cotton wool in my mouth.
The bleeding continue! Time: 2pm...Could not sleep! Why? My saviour-anaesthetic is going weaker and in the other hand, the pain is emerging and I started to take the pain killer. Ice bag! Yes! My another saviour, even it's fairly weaker saviour but it's better than nothing. The pain went into the peak around 4pm, I was shaking on the bed. It continuously torturing me for not long: 2 hours.
Then, the pain starts fading but the bleeding continues...It was a good sign. Yay!
Now! 25 hours after the extraction. I am getting much more better. Lucky today is a Holiday! Sufficient rest is the key. Hopefully, the swollen will gone by today and I could continue my daily routine tomorrow.
Enough for the story...here is the extracted teeth...
